"Tuula has been critical help throughout my journey trying to find healthier way to manage a chronic illness. Health Coaching was not something I was thinking about pre COVID. Having had Crohn’s Disease since my mid 20’s, I followed the traditional western medicine approach for cure that included endless cycle of medicine and more medicine over the years. Earlier this year, after a bad reaction to a biological medicine to treat Crohn’s, I began to question the root cause of my illness.
With Tuula’s 12-week health coaching program, I now better understand how gut wellbeing is a combination of nutrition (food is the best medicine!) and lifestyle. The action steps each week that she set, helped me stay on track and the weekly calls kept the motivation going. I’ve learned valuable tools that are part of my daily routine now, i.e breathing exercises, being more aware of personal cleaning products (and toxins in them), use of essential oils topically and elimination of processed foods among many others.
The food diary was eye opening (done via app) and a MUST for everyone trying to find better way to eat. Tuula was able to provide the results in a measurable way that clearly showed what was working and where change was needed. Without writing down (or adding in the app), you just don’t realize what you eat. I thought that I did not have too much sugar in my diet (at least added sugar), turns out that I consumed too much of it and had too little protein in my diet, despite thinking that I was on a healthy pescatarian/vegetarian diet.
Tuula has a friendly approach on guiding you through the process by suggesting different options. If something does not work, she will find a different way or approach to find a solution. I liked that it was not one way dialogue by her telling what should be done, but we mutually agreed on next steps each week. I highly recommend Tuula, she is a true, caring professional who provides you the tools to continue the journey on your own.
